Minnie Kaye Djukic
Minnie Djukic grew up in Parma, Ohio, where she worked as an instructor for community craft and painting classes. She is now a fourth-year Fine Art student at the University of Cincinnati school of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning (DAAP), working towards a BFA with a focus in printmaking.
Minnie’s work discusses feelings of anxiety, shame and isolation related to her experience as a plus-size woman, combined with exploration of identity and childhood that influence her adult life. The contrasting themes with her bright, cutesy and striking illustration style drive home the feelings of confusion and stress when navigating these aspects of her lived experience.
